Nurturing Well-Rounded Individuals Within a Caring Community

Children learn best in a safe, inclusive and welcoming school environment. At our school, we foster a culture of mutual respect between students, staff and parents. Our shared universal Islamic values underpin our ethos and are embedded in a comprehensive pastoral curriculum that helps students develop the skills needed to become confident architects of their own lives.

Comprehensive Student Support

We address issues surrounding student wellbeing by:

  • Fostering excellent relationships between students and staff where students feel safe enough to share difficulties and challenges.
  • Implementing open policy that informs students of where to seek support, if and when it’s needed.
  • Applying a tutor group, class group, and year group system, that builds secure, small communities within the school. In these environments, students feel more comfortable to seek the support of peers and staff.
  • Teaching Personal, Social and Health Education, which is delivered as part of our pastoral curriculum.
  • Having a Student Counselling Service.
  • Offering the support of a dedicated Safeguarding Team.

Safeguarding Policy

Our school is committed to safeguarding the adults and students at our school. All staff members and volunteers are expected to take this commitment seriously. The school's safeguarding policy outlines robust procedures. As part of the career development process, academic and teaching staff receive safeguarding training on an annual basis. If you have serious concerns about your child, or another KGIS student, please contact the Head of School or a designated Safeguarding Lead directly.

Inclusive Education

We make it a priority to ensure that every student is appreciated, treated as a unique individual, and valued for the contributions they make. During their time at KGIS, some of our students may encounter challenges in their lives which will necessitate additional support from the school. If such cases arise, our trained staff will collaborate with other professionals at the school alongside students and their families to resolve issues in a caring and sensitive manner.

SEND Support and Gifted & Talented Provision

Our school is equipped with specialised facilities and resources to cater for some students who have additional learning requirements. Prior to applying for a place at the school, the parents and legal guardians of children who require Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support and/or gifted and talented provision must speak with our Admissions Team to confirm our ability to meet their child's needs.

Celebrating Diversity

Diversity is celebrated as strength at Knowledge Gate International School. Our teachers take the time to get to know and understand each student individually. Whether they need to be mentally stimulated, are struggling, or are somewhere in the middle, we always work to inspire the best in everyone. As part of our approach, educational support is tailored and personalised at every stage of students' learning journey to ensure all children gain the guidance they need to fulfil their potential.
