Medical Care
At Knowledge Gate International School, students have access to an on-site Clinic that is fully equipped and staffed by qualified and certified nursing staff.
Our nurses are on-hand to provide first aid medical care for any student, staff member or visitor who is unwell or involved in an accident. They are also on hand to provide general advice, support and guidance on health issues.
Accidents & Emergencies
Should your child require emergency medical treatment, every effort will be made to contact you; so it is in your best interests to please ensure that the school is kept informed of any changes to your contact details. In the case of a serious emergency, an ambulance will be called and your child will be taken to the nearest government hospital as per their policy.
Medical Forms
When your child joins Knowledge Gate International School, you will be required to complete our medical forms. Please return them promptly with the full information provided. It is of the utmost importance that the school is made aware of any condition your child has and is supplied with accurate details of any medication they are receiving. This will assist the team in providing specialised care to individuals with specific medical needs, and inform how they are treated in case of an emergency.
Other important points to note:
● We are a ‘nut free’ school, so food with nuts or nut proteins are strictly forbidden.
● Parents will be requested to sign a consent form for the following interventions where necessary:
○ administering paracetamol,
○ assisting your child with their prescription medication e.g. inhaler for asthma, insulin for diabetes or an Epipen for allergies.
● In order to curb the spread of contagious illnesses, we ask parents to keep students at home until they are fit to return to school.
● As a parent we urge you to make every effort to ensure your child’s vaccinations are up to date prior to them starting the school.
● It is compulsory for Kindergarten and Primary students to wear a sun hat outside and as a result we enforce a ‘no hat, no play’ policy.
● We encourage you to apply Factor 30+ sunscreen lotion to your child’s skin before school, especially on PE days and school outings.
